HOW IT WORKS

Mizuno Ekiden is the pioneer of the full-fledged Ekiden relay race in Singapore, with 2017 being its third instalment. The event aims to deliver an experience that focuses on Japanese values such as team work, performance and perseverance, with teams of four runners (of same or mixed gender) competing in a relay race over the same race course, before finishing at a Japanese-themed Matsuri Festival race village.

HERE’S HOW MIZUNO EKIDEN WORKS

The start / end points and transition area are all within the race village at The Promontory @ Marina Bay, (11 Marina Boulevard, Singapore 018940). The 1st runner will wear the traditional tasuki sash. Upon finishing the relay route, the sash will be passed on to the 2nd runner waiting at the transition area – this will repeat until the 4th runner finishes his/her relay route.

While waiting for your teammates to finish the race, enjoy an exciting line-up of Japanese gourmet and cultural activities at the Matsuri (祭り) Festival race village!

HERE’S HOW THE TRANSITION AREA LOOKS LIKE

For a seamless and fluid transition, take note of your teammate's progress via our Leaderboard located at the entrance of the transition point!

When he/she is about to end his/her route, get ready to receive the tasuki sash, and proceed with your route!
